The Scituate Harbor merchants have established a tradition called First Friday - the first friday of every month, shops stay open late and special events are held. Tonight there was a book reading at the Front Street Bookshop, live music at Out of the Blue, wine tastings at the Front Street Gourmet and Harborside Wine and Spirits... and, well, there was probably a lot more going on that I just didn't get to!
This is a great way for folks to shop local and for merchants to demonstrate what sets them apart in this era of big box stores. Here's to First Fridays!
We have a First and Last Friday but it's all art galleries. Would love to check this one out.
