The pollen is so thick it's visible, drifting around in clouds like fog banks. It's everywhere, coating everything. My car wears a soft coat of yellow fuzz and I've surrendered the table and chairs on the deck for the duration because I'm tired of trying to keep things clean.
My cousin in Spain tells me it's just as bad over there - what's it like where you are?

Foggy morning, Minot beach
I went to Minot intending to get a different sort of shot, thanks to an email from SDP reader Sue - but the foggy morning had other plans.

The smiles returning to the faces
It's been a long and lonely winter, but here comes the sun. It's all right.

Beach bunnies
I spotted this pair of rabbits in a driveway by Peggotty Beach on Second Cliff. They took turns popping out of the beach rose shrubs to look at me and then darted away to hide. They really ought to get better at it, though!

Leprachaun
I think I need to start tagging some of my pictures with "completely random thing I found hanging up in a tree" because it happens on a regular basis.

Monochrome Monday: Irish Moss
This particular bucket of seaweed is at the Scituate Maritime and Irish Mossing Museum. They are currently hosting a wonderful exhibit on shipwrecks off our coast; I highly recommend local folks pay it a visit!
On a side note, it looks like my computer woes will be coming to an end in the near future - thanks for hanging in there while I've cobbled together solutions in the meanwhile!

Come into my parlor, said the spider to the fly
This spiderweb in Scituate Forest was so elaborate that I spotted it from a hundred feet down the path.

When the rain came down
My soul was touched by every tree that my eyes could see
I am in peace, in love, in harmony when the rain comes down

A flower for your thoughts
It's too dreary for words today, so I dipped into the archives to find this flower from May of last year.

All creatures great and small
I'm under the weather, so I'm glad I took a lot of photos at Dalby Farm this weekend!

Spring Hatch at Dalby Farm
These chicks are nine days old and enjoying their time in this warm little home while they grow. Some of these little babies are turkens. Other of these chicks start off yellow but will turn white as they age. The light keeps them warm while they grow. (Thanks to my little note-taker for that information!)
Dalby Farm is amazing place! They are dedicated to raising rare breed farm animals and have tours, summer camp and other educational programs. Dalby Farm has been in the same family for generations and is a satellite farm for Plimoth Planation. Be sure to check out their country store! Local folks can even buy eggs from them, yum yum!

The Light is everywhere
Scituate works its way deep into the hearts of the people who live here. Just take a walk around any of the town cemeteries currently in use and you'll see it - recent gravestones have scenes from the town etched into their faces. Scituate Light shines from the granite in grassy fields.
I spotted this little statuette quietly resting on top of a grave in Union Cemetery.
