Many hands make light work

#Scituate Food Pantry

Yesterday I spent some time volunteering at the Scituate Food Pantry. This wonderful organization helps make sure that there’s some food on the table for over 200 families every month. There is significant need out there – and it’s a lot closer to home than you may realize.

In addition to donated food items, the Scituate Food Pantry could use gifts cards to local supermarkets. During the month of December, residents can drop off redeemable bottles and cans at the transfer station; volunteers will be collecting them on behalf of the food pantry. And if you want a little wall art, Ted Goode of Minot has created a 2014 calendar using historical photographs and will donate the proceeds to the pantry. They can be purchased at many locations in Scituate – see this Scituate Mariner article for all the details on the calendar and the bottle drive.

Many hands make light work – so lend a hand to help your neighbors in need.
