Shelter Sunday: Smoke & Whisk

Smoke-Whisk

For this week’s Shelter Sunday, I’d like to share two brothers who have been at the Scituate Animal Shelter for eight months now. Smoke and Whisk are two years old, friendly, sweet and playful boys who can be a little shy when first meeting someone.

Smoke and Whisk are considered “special needs” pets because they have stomatitis, an inflammation of the mouth. Eventually these cats will need to have their teeth removed – which sounds daunting, I know! The fact is that cats can live long, healthy lives without teeth – and the Shelter has already raised the money to cover the cost of this surgery, so it will not be a financial burden on anyone who adopts them. Not only that, but the shelter is waiving their adoption fee altogether!

Whisk and Smoke do not have to be adopted together – though since they are brothers, it’d be nice if they could stay with each other. They get along with other cats but don’t care for dogs. These boys would so best in a home with older children due to their shyness.

The Scituate Animal Shelter would love to see these boys in a home for the holidays. Maybe you’re not able to provide that home yourself – but by sharing their pictures and story, you might get Whisk & Smoke in front of the person who can!
