It’s the first day of the month, which means it’s Theme Day for the City Daily Photo community. The theme for February 2013 is “Umbrellas.”
Now, it’s February in New England, so umbrellas are few and far between – not something you chance upon, especially with the wind we’ve been having! I thought about playing with the interpretation of the theme, but nothing really grabbed me… so I dipped into the archives. This summer day on Humarock Beach takes me to a happy place as I sit here wearing multiple layers and fuzzy socks. Wouldn’t you like to be under that umbrella, whiling away the afternoon?

I hear the winds have been nasty in recent days. I’ll bet there is an abandoned umbrella with broken spokes somewhere in Scituate. But, your pleasant summer beach photo is much more soothing, isn’t it?
I have just such an umbrella in my own garage, Jack! I prefer the summer one. 😉
These are the only kinds of umbrella shots that have really cheered me today. I can almost feel the warm sand between my toes. . .welcome, since my multiple layers aren’t quite warm enough just now!
