It’s just too darn hot, people.
The town of Scituate has a Cooling Center open at the Council on Aging. Please remember that we are in an extreme heat situation – keep cool and hydrated, check on neighbors and friends and don’t leave anyone in the car, even for a brief amount of time!
How warm is it?
How hot is it? We’ve been in the 90s (Fahrenheit – 33+ Celsius) all week long. It’s so hot that it may shut down a nearby nuclear power plant. Pilgrim Nuclear in Plymouth draws its cooling water from Cape Cod Bay; that water is required to be less than 75 degrees in order to do its job, and it exceeded that temperature on Tuesday for a bit.
You can almost feel the heat in this shot.
Good, because I sure could fell it when I took the picture!
